The faces behind OGS. A young couple from Newcastle on the east coast of Australia who have always had a strong passion for their country and the beautiful landscapes and the legendary personalities that make it so unique. Since 2020 we have been manufacturing their incredible products for them in our factory with the utmost care and quality
They had always wanted a little business of their own, one that could be run from the road, could be sustainable and had a strong passion for. They were never looking to make a lot of money or anything like that, but if they could enjoy what we were doing and maybe buy a case of tinnies at the end of the week that was enough for them.
They were stuck for ideas and even tried some other ventures with no success, however while they were decking out their beloved Troopy in 2020, in preparation to travel Australia full time, they were brainstorming creative storage solutions and with the help of The Canvasman bring them to life. They thought that they had some good products and could build their business around these products – thus OGS was born.

My name is Nick Osborn and my partner Lillie and I have been working with The Canvas Man for over four years now. We started our own small business called Outback Gear Solutions back in 2020. Basically, we come up with creative ideas for 4WD touring storage solutions and The Canvas Man brings those ideas to life and then supplies us with batches of products for retail sale through our online store.
From the beginning Brett, Emma and their team have been supportive, attentive, invested and benevolent with our journey all the way from our early days, right up to the established business that we are today. From our original prototyping to large batches of products, they have partnered with us every step of the way.
As a passionate Australian, it means a lot to us to be able to source our products from a third generation local business, who sources their raw materials from Australian wholesalers. This is a prideful notch in the belt of our Aussie business and we are grateful for The Canvas Man’s commitment to upholding these values in a market that is driven closer and closer to cheaper, offshore supply.
